How Do You Change Careers?

Not to get personal right away, but I’m a bit shocked to see how I’ve evolved in the last 29 years. Truly, I blinked and here I am. Feeling good, confident, and…smart? 10 years ago at 19 years of age, I would never have thought I’d be this successful so quickly. But really the journey seems to have just begun in my career. Just early this year in 2024, I’ve done the best thing I could and stand up for myself. Granted, I had someone who I worked for just rip me to shreds over email, I knew I couldn’t handle another marketing boss in my world. Never. Ever. Again.

Quite frankly, I’ve turned my whole career around because there were so many deal breakers that I’ve encountered, I just couldn’t handle the emotional pain. I had questioned myself constantly on what the heck I’m doing in my career and if I reached failure status. In reality, the truth is that it was time to leave, let go, and do what I’ve been itching about. And that my friends would be working as an Interior Designer.

Once upon a time, I worked for a big TV corporation. I ended up HATING it. And I worked my a** off to get there. Once I graduated from ISU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media, I landed this gig. I immediately learned what no one ever deserves to go through what I did, but it made me tough. I’m still carrying some baggage, but I’ve been working on the trauma of that work place. I’m glad that the stars aligned and I finally got a job with more security and less…h***.

I’m happy to introduce my journey to you and hope that you came across this blog as a genuine interest in what I have to offer. There’s so many things that can pull us from the good, so I can attest to being truthful in all of my blogs.

To answer the question of the title of this blog, I have to admit I don’t have the answer to it. You have to find it yourself. When you follow my progress, I hope that I can help guide you in the direction to finding that dream job of yours. I know you can do it, because if I can…anyone can!

With that said, here’s a little list of how to get started:

  1. Remove all things negative in your life (this includes humans, objects, and that negativity in your head).

  2. Research your dream jobs and take notes on what’s available in this current market.

  3. Learn how to translate your previous experience into that dream job (this is where a thesaurus comes into play).

  4. Apply, apply, apply. Don’t ever stop applying, even if you love where you are at. Keep that door OPEN.

  5. Let whoever you believe in from above do the rest of the work, it will come in time.

More topics to come soon and for now, enjoy this beautiful day. Hope to see you along with me on my journey.

Toodaloo!
